Check Your Voter Registration Today
Since Scott Schwab took over as KS Secretary of State, the data for party registration has been missing from the website (here click to see the 5 month gap).
What the data we do have tells us is that from January until July 2023:
- Registered Democrats have gone down 6,671
- Registered Independents have UP 4,714
- Registered Republicans have gone down 7,812
- Libertarian voters have gone up 27
That leaves 9,742 Kansans removed from the voter rolls in just 5 months, a number which does not seem like it would reflect deaths or moves (in part because a voter dying does not trigger removal from the voter rolls).
While the SOS has not yet updated these missing numbers, it’s important to check your voter registration to confirm you’re still registered. You can do that on the Kansas Secretary of State website here. Double check your name spelling, address and party affiliation now so there’s plenty of time to update before the primaries in 2024.
